Fleming comes to UW–Madison from The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), where she was an associate professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education. At Penn State, she served as co-director of WorkLink, a postsecondary certificate program for individuals with intellectual disabilities. She was principal investigator or co-investigator on multiple grants and projects focused on rehabilitation counselor training and evaluating the impact of pre-employment transition services within state vocational rehabilitation agencies. Her research focuses on employment and well-being among individuals with disabilities across the lifespan, with an emphasis on social and behavioral determinants of health. Fleming earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Springfield College and a PhD from Michigan State University. Fleming was hired as part of the campus RISE-THRIVE initiative.
