Lent, Sarah

Dr. Lent’s research examines how educators conceptualize and adopt antiracist and equity-centered practices as well as how white educators engage in reflexivity and dialogue about race. She also examines teacher learning, including teacher preparation, as it concerns antiracist and equity-centered education. Dr. Lent looks at how policy implementation and related discourse influence practitioners and educational outcomes. Her teaching focuses on inclusion and fostering learning environments where all students can thrive.
Before joining the RPSE department, she worked at the Wisconsin Center of Education Research (WCER). Currently, she is also a dissertation coach in UW-Madison’s Educational Leadership and Education Policy (ELPA) department. Dr. Lent is a former special education teacher and administrator.
