American Educational Research Association (AERA) Dissertation and Research Grants Programs

The American Education Research Association (AERA) is sponsoring Dissertation and Research Grants Programs. The deadlines are August 29, 2008.

Program Description: The goals of the AERA Dissertation and Research Grants Programs are (a) to stimulate research on issues related to U.S. education policy and practice using National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and National Science Foundation (NSF) data sets; (b) to improve the education research community's firsthand knowledge of the range of data available at the two agencies and how to use them; and (c) to increase the number of education researchers using the data sets. Underrepresented minority researchers are strongly encouraged to apply. Dissertation Grants are up to $15,000 for 1-year projects. Research grants are up to $20,000 for 1-year projects, or up to $35,000 for 2-year projects. (Note: Researchers who have previously received a research grant as a PI or co-PI, a postdoctoral fellowship, or an AERA fellowship through the AERA Grants Program may not apply for a research grant.)
